Normal, usually they won't be bold or vivid.

The red dot transfers over to the black & white image even though there is no red dot.

I expected to see a complimentary colored after image. Instead my vision merged the colored and white images and showed a 3D version of the image. Now I can't unseen it.

It's because the light sensors in the eye (cones) get tired while staring at the image and when they can rest, only the complementary colors respond.

Same idea with another image...look at the dots on the woman's nose for 10 seconds (or up to 30 seconds if needed), and then quickly look to the white area to the right.
