The catalog is easy to fix just resync..

Sync? I don't think so... If a file is moved outside of light room, syncing will not fix it. You have to manually show LR where it is.

If you are using LR, you MUST make all moves within light room to keep the pointers pointing to the file so it knows where the file is. But there really isn't a need to move a file, that I can see. Just use the collections feature, which is within Lightroom and not folders on the disk drive.

Syncing is for other function.

How does sync work in Lightroom Classic? To sync Lightroom Classic photos with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom apps, the photographs must be in synced collections or in All Synced Photographs collection. Photos within a synced collection are automatically available in Lightroom on your desktop, mobile, and web.

To each it’s own. My wife has her fork in the right hand, while I hold it with my left hand. Amazingly we both clean our plate.

When you are right, you are correct!!!

Currently and most of the time, I only need LR for its White-balance, Lighting functions and Raw-Jpeg conversion. Then I process the image much easier and faster with the plug-ins of Topaz (Adjust AI, Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, Clean, ReMask) and Lumina AI. Do you agree?

Totally disagree.

I have not understood why people move image files around so much. There is a way to do it within LR but if you place the original well in the first place, there’s no reason to move it somewhere else. Edited files I can sort of understand but the only time I ever moved an original file was when I was getting started and setting up a folder system.

For those who are proficient in LR/PS, and daily users who want whatever updated features, they will remain on Adobe subscribers.
For I own a copy of LR/PS and only use less than 20% of their features, I prefer to use the less-brainer AI selections. Of course, l would still use LR/PS for the features that are not available in those competitors.
For instance, I find Topaz Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, Remask 5, Alumina AI work much better than LR/PS.

For me it comes down to the fact that I started learning PS at night school in 1998. With 23 years under my belt I know it pretty well and am very comfortable with it. I also like Bridge for my cataloguing. Why spend a load more time learning LR to do the same as I already achieve with PS. Had I taken up post processing within the last few years I might have adopted LR from the beginning.

Totally disagree. I have the full topaz set and rarely use them. I use lr, ps and smart photo editor from anthropics.

The advantage to lightroom as it's non destructive to the original image. Lr is a great program.
