I recently watched a Ken Rockwell video review of the Nikon Z5. He took test images with the picture controls set to Vivid, saturation at +3, in JPEG.

I took these photos yesterday at Vines Park, Georgia, with the above settings.

I used a Nikon 18-200 on a Nikon D5500.

If you don’t like the photos, please blame Ken Rockwell, lots of other people do.😊😊

Good experiment.

Some people like over saturation,
Some people follow others,
Some people like band-wagons,
I shoot and process the way I want.

Presets or post adjustment, it simply depends on what you want the results to look like.

These are beautiful, Dean. Vivid works well for greenery and flowers!

These images look to be consistent in color saturation with a lot of your work on your website. So it looks like you and Ken have similar inclinations in that regard. You do some really nice work, Dean.

Colorful and beautiful, Dean. #4 brings Monet to mind.

Interesting and attractive, if a little unreal. Actually, Vivid, Saturation +1 and EC -.03 works a treat for me under the majority of conditions.

From what I've seen he sets all of his Nikon's for vivid and +3 on saturation. He says that color is what pays the bills for him.
