until yesterday. Foxglove, I'm told, is poisonous for man and animal, but I had no idea of the beautiful flower. I'm not yet older than dirt-getting close; but, can still enjoy learning.

Floyd, you're never too old to learn something new. However, we might get old enough to not remember what we learned!

That is some beautiful flower. I have never see on live either.

Lovely! Grew up around them. Digitalis. Has been folk heart medicine for a very long time. Scientifically tested first in England in the late 1700's.

Thank you for your comments. How does the statement go: As I get older I miss a lot of things; but the thing I miss most is my mind. In the midst of my 80th decade, I'm beginning to understand that a bit better.

Thank you for your nice comment. Digitalis; thanks, I've been trying to remember where I'd heard the word. You helped me remember.

Didn't know they were poisonous but, I did know the deer don't eat them. Nice photo.

We have lots round here and you can get them with white flowers. Bees love them but they are poisonous. As quixdraw said used for heart medicine..

Here on the Oregon coast you can see acres of these beauties growing wild in the hills. They really are a beautiful flower. Besides, we need digitalis!
