Every year during Derby week they make the announcement of the new honorees for the Thoroughbred Hall of Fame. This year's inductee is....drum roll please... American Pharaoh!
I traveled to Louisville in 2015 for Pharaoh's homecoming after he became the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years and I was fortunate to get this shot of him in the paddock. A beautiful and powerful animal with personality who loved the attention of the crowd that day.

Any hoggers who want to get some photos of great horses might want to make their way to KY and take one of the tours at this working farm dedicated to the care of retired Thoroughbreds.
