Sony has permanently discontinued their last DSLR cameras.

How long will it take for the others to follow suit?

Canon has no new DSLR releases planned and has officially discontinued the manufacture of 30+ DSLR/SLR style lenses.

As long as there is enough demand, they will continue to make them.

Walked out this morning
Couldn't believe what I saw
A hundred million DSLRs
Had washed up on the shore
Seems I'm not alone in going mirrorless
Now there's a hundred million DSLRs
that no longer have a home

Typical UHH history major, IOW boldly proudly ignorant, and more than ready to try to confuse others.

Seen any good Tony videos lately ? ?Have you ever used an A99, A77, A68, or any of that lineage ? ? I doubt it.

The A99II is a live view camera. Sony hasn’t made DSLRs for a dog’s age.

DSLR = Digital Single Lens Reflex

The A99ii (and also the A77 and A68) has a semi transparent mirror (hence "reflex", like a reflection in a mirror) and a pentaprism... how come it is not a DSLR camera??

What has "live view" to do with that?? If you take a D850 and set it in live view, does it cease to be a DSLR??

If it has a mirror that flips out of the way when taking a picture, it's a DSLR.
Nothing magical about fully reflective or partially reflective.

If Sony mirrorless cameras were better than DSLRs, they would be more expensive.

Your humor is a little misplaced. Price is not based on cost nor features. But WTMWB, but i get your point.
