Canon Connect as a remote starter and ender for video?

I use the WiFi connection. I am a high school band director. I often set the camera up in our auditorium and use my iPad on my music stand to control the camera. I have never had any issues at all.

Wow! Thank you everyone! I was able to take a video with my Canon 5DM4 . . . it was a comedy of errors.
The manual said that it could work with the Canon remote - stop/start. Except my Canon remote is very old (2000 I think) so it didn't work.
I don't have an Ipad or any Apple product so I was limited to PC and Android. I somehow forgot about downloading Canon Connect.
I did purchase a microphone that sits atop of the camera...but it didn't record sound! After searching the Web and YouTube, I learned that the microphone connection to the camera had to be pushed in for two clicks...I only did one click.
But it still didn't record the sound! Thank goodness for YouTube. Found this video about a Codex...downloaded the software called VCL media player - free. It worked! BUT,
Given the deadline was today, and the camera store was closed Sunday and Monday, the whole wireless discussion just couldn't be researched.
So, I purchased Adobe Premiere and upgraded Elements to trim my walking to and from where I was going to stand after starting and stopping the video.
My poor beleaguered brain was completely fried BUT I had success which I never would have had without all the help and suggestions from you all! I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated all your responses, comments and suggestions.
Over the next two weeks, I will delve into Canon Connect and a wireless transmitter. You all are so generous with your expertise. Thank you so much! Linda
