Pretty cars!

While I do like the look of a lowered suspension on those old beauties, seeing them squat on the ground when at rest is not a turn-on for me. I’ve never understood the appeal of that feature.

My first car was an 1941 Oldsmobile Hydramatic inline flat-head six cylinder. I bought it in 1965 for $400 and it had just over 35,000 miles on it with the original spare tire and owner's manual as a single owner car. It was showroom perfect in every way and what one would call "a big boat of a car". No power steering but it took power to steer it.

Wish I still had it however that's what idiots do along with my 1949 Studebaker pickup truck and 1954 Ford pickup truck. If I only knew then what I know now.

Don’t feel bad.... I had a 1955 Chevy Nomad and a 1967 GTO once....

My first car was a 1940 Ford coupe, that I bought in 1953. It was in great shape and low milage for only $250 that I earned working in a grocery store after school! 🙂

All of the cars sport sunshades which to my recollection came into widespread use in 1946 as a dealer add-on profit item during the war caused auto shortage. Their use faded by the early 50's. The beautiful metal-pastel colors did not exist in the 30's. Sunfast pastel colors made their appearance in the early 50's.

Great series of the Greatest Generation's "used" cars. My Dad was 19 in 1939 and when we came back from the war he bought a used 1939 Plymouth Coupe, his dream car.
