I like how the clouds are set with your photograph! I have also a couple moon shots taken with a FujiFilm S1800 Point and Shoot Digital camera not a high end camera but love it!

Very kind of you, thanks :)

Yeah... now SEE!? Your's rocks, too! :)

I'm frustrated because the camera did not capture what I saw that night. As mentioned before, it was partly cloudy... but where the camera shows blurred light; the naked eye could see a LOT more detail on the moon's surface.

Don't see too many Astronomy shots! Good for you! Coloring looked good for my novice eye. Not sure if a sharper image was possible at that range. Keep sending more....

i like moon shot but i think you have to use a heavy tripod with an increase of ISO and shutter speed.

Have to agree - this is a nice shot, but try it with a tripod and use a remote shutter release or the timer function - you will like it !!!

(Also - was this when the moon was near the horizon? I don't think the color is filter, but haze from atmosphere) Bundle up on a cold, clear nite, and let it get at least a third of the way to overhead

Moon up high, with timer

Clouds? Sure, why not !

Moon low on the horizon - see the color?

set camera up on tripod, used a 70-300 1:4-5:6is lense. i thought the remote trigger was key,it keeps your hands off camera and prevents it from shaking so much.

What I think?
I think I'm jealous-as-all-get-out!

I don't have a professional camera, just a lil' Canon Powershot A550, and silly me... thought maybe I'd get lucky and snag a shot maybe HALF as good as yours at some point!

I think it's fantastic.

(Here's all I could muster with mine. I have to have something else in the frame to compare it with, else it's just a blurred light spot that could be any ol' thing lol)

Congrats... and color me jealous. :)
