I have a D3400 which does everything I need it to. I wish the rear screen was articulated so I could shoot more easily at odd angles, but it works well in all other aspects.

I use Snapbridge only when I'm planning to put something on social media before I have time to work on the pictures. The camera control does not work over bluetooth so I haven't tried it.

I do, however, have a couple of Android apps that will remotely control the camera and use live livescreen remotely on the phone connected by MicroUSB to MicroUSB cable.

I myself have a 5600 and have had it for 3 years now and like it a lot. I have a 18-140 lens that I use often. I also just purchased a Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and this lens is now one I am really starting to like. I also have a 70-300mm. One thing I do like is the flip out screen especially when I shoot on a tripod. For someone that has had back surgery and bending down is a problem at times it leaves me a lot of options. Hope this helps.

This decision is totally up to you. The D5600 is a mild upgrade over the D3400 and both cameras have 24 pixels.

Both of these camera bodies weigh the same. What is the difference other than the price? What about SnapBridge with the D5600 compared with the D3500?

Basically the same camera. Same sensor, slightly different electronics, and NEW! and BETTER! menus.
Most of which are the set-and-forget variety. They take the same pictures.
The 3xxx is a loss leader thing. You buy a "good deal". THEN you buy lenses and accessories.
Your next camera purchase of very slight benefit- another Nikon.
I''ve had D3xxxs and a D7100- same shots. Traded the D7100 for a D600.
VERRRY similar results depending on lighting.
