World Health Organization announcement 3/26/2020.
"If you do not have any respiratory symptoms, such as fever, cough, or runny nose, you do not need to wear a medical mask. When used alone, masks can give you a false feeling of protection and can even be a source of infection when not used correctly."
Before the declaration of the current "pandemic", this was the standard medical advice, based on decades of experience dealing with infections in circulation among populations. Like the annual flu, that "killed" tens to hundreds of thousands worldwide, every year. (The mask rule applied to the population in general, not specific high-risk situations such as first responders or hospital ERs.)
The mask helps protect the people from the person wearing the mask. You would think after a year most would understand that.

Prove me wrong.
They may not work for Covid19 but they sure do make some people more acceptable.
23 world wide studies on the efficacy of masks, their conclusions were unanimous they are doing nothing

If you ever need surgery, please ask your surgeon to keep their mask off. They will oblige and thank you, I'm sure of it!

Can you please give us the references? What does "they are doing nothing mean"?

That was a year ago, when we didn't know the newly discovered Covid virus was transmitted by the airborne route. Now the data are irrefutable: masks work. That's the thing about science, it is constantly self correcting.
We also didn't know people died of it from falling off ladders, or crashing their motorcycles. I'm not at all sure that what "people" say we "know" about this particular virus is even remotely reliable.
Are we still having this discussion? Amazing. But then, are you surprised? Free-dumb!
