I spend a lot of evening on the porch between the time the weather turns nice and the mosquitoes show up.
I hope we will be seeing images of your orioles and grosbeaks soon.

When I was picking out options for the house I wasn't considering a front porch. My friend, Nancy, said if I get the porch she would buy the rockers. So, I did and she did. Unfortunately neither she nor the rockers are still with us, but I think of her whenever I sit out there.
I was really happy when the birds started showing up!

Although it doesn't show, there is a pond across the street with trees behind it. Beyond that is a farm field. I knew when I moved here there had to be birds around, but it took them a few years to decide to come across the street. I think it might have been the trees reaching a size they could go to for shelter.

Great photos. All I see in Middletown are red winged blackbirds and cowbirds despite 3 feeders in my backyard. Send some of these beauties up DuPont Hwy so we can share in the enjoyment :)
