Nice series. I wouldn't expect anything less from this body and you're images verify the capabilities of the 200-600. There are several reasons why I am seriously considering getting a copy of this body, but one of the most compelling for me is the eye af for birds. I would be curious whether you were using this feature for these shots. Congratulations on your purchase. I'm guessing your are pretty happy!

Yes, I had the bird eye AF on and was shooting in zone AF.

The good thing about eye AF is it will lock on the eye even if the eye is outside the focus area selected. You can see when it locks on while shooting, but I'm not sure if it did or not on this set. I was so surprised he showed up, I had no idea what was going on in the viewfinder. I just kept telling myself, "don't clip the wings"....

And I was shooting compressed RAW which gave me 30 FPS, so with this set I deleted 200+ perfect images. That's the only thing...they are all good, so it takes forever to pick the winners. And feels so bad when you have to delete the others.

I completely understand the pain in deleting perfectly good, sharp, images. But considering I had to delete 199 shots out of 200 with my Canon gear because the images weren't sharp, having 200 good ones is a good problem to have. And thanks for the comment on the "eye" af. The frame rate and the eye af are the main reasons I plan on picking up one. But the sensor is nothing to sneeze at. I'm just having problems parting with the $6500. I need to sell some gear in order to justify it.

Have fun and look forward to seeing more of your images.

NICE... First real photos i have seen with the A1. Not sure I could justify parting with my a7Riv for the a1 quite yet.
