When I'm looking to buy a new camera or other photo equipment I will go to the 42nd Street Photo website looking for the item. When I find something I'm interested in I will open that item in a separate tab. As I find other items I open them in separate tabs. Then I can flip back and forth comparing those items.

The convenience of multiple tabs!
I do the same.
Also comes in handy comparing multiple versions of the same image here on UHH.
I "download" each image to its own tab and switch between them to view any differences there may be.

It's interesting to hear about some of the new pc's and their power. My first usable one had 8K of Ram and used a 300baud modem to communicate. Storage was a tape recorder with the sound of data recorded in bit sequence.
It's great to hear where we are now.

Runs rings around the old method, eh?

Every computer should test a little differently. So to see how your computer performs open "Task Manager" select "Performance" and watch the graphs as the program processes the file to see if you have enough Memory/CPU etc. Just my $0.02

If I am researching a particular subject, or even two at the same time, I have 400+ Firefox tabs open. It starts to get a bit cranky at 600 Tabs. Outlook and a few other programmes are also open at the same time. Modern computers behave far better than those of past times. Open multiple tabs, you will not break anything.

Most of your tabs must be out of sight, requiring a click to see them, right?

Tabs too small to display all the words,
however simply mousing over the tab shows the entire tab title.
At least in Firefox...

The solution to a multitude of tabs is a small add-on called All Tabs Helper. It takes a little screen space but lists all open tabs. A particular tab can be selected or deleted. Without this aid, the process of getting back to tab 1 from tab 600, takes a eternity.

Wouldn't a list of 600 tabs take up a lot of screen?
Mouse-over the tabs works for me. I never have more than, maybe 20 open. Then I view and close.

True that you can only see 20 or 30 abbreviated tabs of 600 that may be open. All Tabs Helper lists all open tabs and any tab can be easily located by the list. I do not customarily have 600 open but it has happened when I have been researching two issues at the same time. I had a multitude open for identification of many of my unnamed variety bonsai trees and at the same time I became involved in a legal matter that also required many tabs to be available. Even when I read this forum, I will often have 20 or so tabs open along with four email tabs and other areas that interest me,
