As we’ve come to know, luck often plays a part in nabbing an eye-catching picture. As terminal cancer from Agent Orange exposure now has me in hospice care, I don’t get out to enjoy my favorite pastime of photography. However, I always carry my camera in my car, and occasionally jump out for a quick grab-shot of a scene that just simply appears. This was the case with the scenic photo here, taken when I only saw a bright full moon over an old building. It was only after I got to view it on my large monitor did I discover a lone DEER skulking in the shadows! That bonus deer truly made the scene! I’d rather be lucky than good!🥴

Yes! Great catch. That photo is just right every which way.
THOSE PHOTOS THAT TAKE CARE OF THEIR OWN COMPOSITION ARE THE BEST. AND FORGET ABOUT THE THIRDS RULE.. THANK YOU.
Great to find the "bonus" deer framed by the old building! It is like a hidden subject pretty much exactly balanced to the lower right of the tree as the moon is to the upper left of the tree. The pine with the leading lines of the path leading to it, plus the brilliant colors at just the right time of day when the details on the moon are the same exposure as the rich blue of the sky. All around wonderful photo. I think of the saying, "Yes, there is luck in photography, but good photographers get lucky more often."
Great catch. You are so right about luck and timing
