Both great, hard to choose. I like the amount of environment in the first, for a hawk-in-action portrait, the second is awesome!

I prefer #1. I think because it seems to convey the power of its flight better (?) #2 is a fine image but I'm just drawn to #1 more. I think it seems more in motion or evokes a feeling of motion.

Both are excellent, Erik. #1 shows the thrust of the launch. #2 is good, but could be a landing shot.
