I have an Epson Stylus Photo R1800 photo printer whose is at EOL now. What do visitors on this site recommend as a good photo printer for 13”x 19” max size photos?
Pixma Pro 100 has worked well for me. Up to 13x19 as well. Gets sporadic use and so far has not had a problem with the print heads. Inks are not cheap. Prints are attractive and have held up well posted in places where the sun shines on them through the windows. There used to be occasional deep discounts. There are probably newer models, haven't kept track since mine works.

Using a Canon Pro-100 for a number of years now. The prints are bright and brilliant. Like any printer to get the best results you must use printer profiles when printing. As far as the high cost of ink I have learned to refill my cartridges'. I have been buying ink from Precision Colors.
https://www.precisioncolors.com/ They have all the instructions and tools needed on their website.
It drops the price from $15. a cartridge to less that $2.00 each. The ink matched the oe canon ink. I use their printer profiles through photoshop or lightroom. The prints are amazing.

When they stopped making ink for my Epson Stylus Photo 2200 I bit the bullet and bought the Epson P700- and it is incredible!

Above is true for me also.

I want to deeply thank everybody who took the time to respond to my question on a good printer. I have researched the suggestions & leaned on the Epson XP-15000; but it’s out of stock in most stores; where it is available the price is much higher. So I have back ordered & will wait.
Thank you again for your suggestions.

Why did you leave the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 off of your list for a pigment choice?

I recommend the Epson Photo Printers. Tank based printers are NOT for quality photo output, especially with only four inks. I use an Epsom P800. Best of luck.
Epson xp15000, I love that it has the red and grey inks, make a richer tone
I went with the Canon Pro 1000. Cartridges aren't cheap - but they last for a while.
It's the same printer my camera store (Kenmore Camera near Seattle) uses for customer prints - so I figured it was a good one.

I absolutely double up on what you said.
Unfortunately, the price deals appear to be gone on the Pro 100. It's been replaced by a new version that appears not to have any promotions at this point in time. Not sure if Precision Colors will have inks and resets available.
