Eastern Towhee per Google Lens plugin (its an option if I open the download on Chrome browser and only works on my phone - not laptop computer).

Make it 4 to 1 for an Eastern Towhee! LOL...I have about 6 permanent residents at my house in Southern Oregon & see them everyday! Of course mine are the Spotted Western Towhee...just spots to the Eastern's back & wings!!

It is an Eastern Towhee. That is the only kind of Towhee we have in NC and SC.

I use two really helpful bird ID apps: Merlin Bird and Audubon. Both agree — Eastern Towhee.

Eastern Towhee, formerly called rufous-sided towhee, that someone mentioned above. I like the former name better. There is also a western species with more spots on the wing, called the spotted towhee.
