This Osprey gave me a flyby while it was checking out
a local fishing pond.

I found 5 platforms in use at Lake Pueblo and on the Arkansas.
I have only checked about 10 of the 20 or so that are in the
area. I went to check the fish hatchery nest on the big light pole and
the two poles that contained a platform there have been removed. I am sure
that the osprey will find new nest locations.

In many states Audubon has a group that monitors the status of the Osprey coming back from near extinction due to DDT. In Ct we monitor approximately 900 nests, the goal being to get a rough headcount. They are doing quite well!
