Photoshop locks up when any item is clicked on the screen. Read and tried all the Adobe helps. Deleted and reinstalled. shut down and restarted computer. Still locks up when ANY item on pull down is clicked. Any suggestions, Adobe is no help.

Did you try their technical support chat with Adobe? They can remote in and 'see' your issue, more so than any of us.

Your question is like going to a doctor and saying you have pain. You really need to provide a LOT more detail - computer platform and specs, version of OS, version of Photoshop, how long this has been happening, etc, etc, etc.

Had a similar problem. Updated driver on my graphics card even though the existing driver was current. Solved the problem. Don't know why but it worked. I found this solution on the Adobe Forum.

I can sympathize. I have had similar problems with Adobe and have been on the phone for HOURS with them to no avail. Photoshop and Bridge take at least 5 minutes to open, but they eventually open regardless of the messages I get in the interval. The same when I want to print something. Adobe help has tried their best, but their best is not enough. Lightroom is not as bad.

Without specific information, my suggestion is to buy a new computer that meets or exceeds Adobe's specific requirements.

The only time I had a major issue, Adobe solved it by remotely performing a custom installation. I'd try IMing Adobe again.

More of a general point, there seems to be an issue with LR since the late 2020 revision (LR Classic 10.1.1) and, partly to blame, possibly its' interface with Windows 10.

I recently started to find LR locking up frequently on my Dell desktop. Cleared everything other than LR and put all my other stuff on my laptop.

In order to find out what may be contributing to the problem I spent time with MS on-line support staff who deleted and re installed Windows 10 and carried out other problem-solving approaches.

It improved, but still problematical, so I contacted Adobe and spent time going through problem solving with them. In the end they stated that the issue was not of their making.

I have no issues running LR and all my other stuff on my Dell laptop. The differences in both pieces of hardware is mostly a variation in chip i.e., Intel i3 versus i5. My LR Catalog is on a WD 5TB, > 3 TB of space available.

So, I will be installing another 8 GB RAM on my desktop this week at a cost of $40 (so no big deal) going from 8GB to 16 GB; Adobe recommends a minimum of 12GB.

I have pulled off quite a few web pages that refer to the sort of parameters that are recommended from both a hardware perspective (e.g., RAM, Chip etc.) plus those that refer to software settings.

Why the (general) issue may be contributions from both Windows and Adobe? Firstly, other blogs and have recently mentioned Windows 10 issues with LR, plus Victoria Brampton (aka the Lightroom Queen for the uninitiated) commented about Adobe working on their software following recent complaints.

I have had the same issue. Spent two hours on a phone call with Adobe support, they were very helpful.
I am running a PC with Windows 10 (Win10) and Adobe Photoshop (PS) V22.3.
I was having issues with Photoshop freezing when trying to edit an image. The main issue is that Photoshop V22.3 is having a conflict with Win10 and Intel>Display Adapter>Intel(R) HD Graphics.
The fix is to uninstall Adobe PS V22.3 and to install Adobe PS "V21.2.6".
Adobe is aware of the issue and is working on a new version of PS beyond V22.3.
Additionally, assure that your Win10 is updated to current version "20H2". This can be found and updated by going to Start>Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update>Update available.
This will allow faster updates of downloads.
