If you get a free Payboo card from B&H and use it to buy the camera, they will credit you the sales tax off of the sale.

That's a interesting idea BH is doing. Is the APR on the credit card higher than most credit cards so they can cover the tax?
I don't know, I always pay it on time.

Me too unless it is a professional Canon lens - which I don't do anymore given I moved to Olympus for the weight reduction.

Why fool around with a middle-man? Buy direct from Nikon.

Yes, it’s around 25%, but if you pay it off with the first statement, it’s ZERO.

Thank you for explaining how it works!
Just bought another camera using Greentoe. The deal is- you make an offer and they send it out to legitmate, US dealers. Going price was $2000, offered $1500 and received deal for $1600 from a licensed dealer. Not sure how some dealers can come in so low, but feel safe with a return policy that gives me the opportunity to register the new product serial number for authentication . Saved a couple of thousand over the past few years.

Curiously, you may also want to check out Amazon.com. Since we order so much from them I had more than $250.00 saved up in Amazon Rewards to use as a discount when I bought my D850. Brought down the price real nice.
I don't understand the prejudice against Amazon. I've bought a lot from them with never a problem. What gives?
I've also ordered from B/H with no problem. Haven't tried the others and certainly don't cruise the net looking to save a dime or three! I guess that if someone told me that I could save fifty bucks on a lens, then I'd probably look around. Being retired, that's real money but I don't nickel and dime myself. <g> Harry
I buy 90% of everything we use on Amazon except for food. I've purchase some camera equipment and you can get an extended warranty which will payout long after the manufacturers warranty is up. They do honor their warranties. I'm not sure of the problem. I don't buy any kits just the items I want. That being said I use all of the reputable online sites for camera gear. I am purchasing a Canon 100-400L IS usm ii this week for 919.00 from a site I have used before and was always very satisfied

Recently bought mine from B and H. Everything went very smoothly. And, if you use their credit card you saving on taxes. Depending on how much you spend, you can save hundreds of dollars (as I did).

As long as the item is sold and shipped by Amazon, I've never had a problem and have bought a ton of stuff from them. If you get the Amazon store credit card and use it for your purchases, you get a 5% rebate on your purchases every month.
I have been impressed with YM camera in Ohio.
