Spectacular photo! MOST people would never notice the light source being from two different directions. Not to Worry! Itโ€™s STILL a โ€˜Show Stopperโ€™.
If you do PP, then the little tidal pools on the right would look Breathtaking with the addition of the reflected sky and stars!
Especially the Shooting Star.

I spent 5 hours early this morning sitting in a lawn chair located on a deserted beach just south of the 7 Mile Bridge on the Florida Overseas Highway (30 miles from Key West). I had spent the night photographing the stars and the Milky Way. This image was taken as dawn broke in the eastern sky and banished the night and the Milky Way from the sky. It was a enchanting and emotional moment along with being a moment of tranquillity after a year of stress caused by the pandemic. It offered a moment of hope for a better day. A shooting star was a special bonus.

Captured with a Nikon D850, 24-70mm lens ISO 1000, 15 seconds, f2.i8

Thanks so much for looking. I hope it brightens your day.

Beautiful shot, Larry. What was the source of light for the foreground, if you donโ€™t mind me asking? It really serves to make the tree and rocks interesting.

Questions are always welcome, I have no secrets. In addition to the rising sun, I have a Petzel hiker's headlamp with three levels of brightness. I used the lowest level to paint the tree in a quick pass over the limbs. At ISO 1000 it does not take much to have an impact. The light striking the tree from the right was caused by a 18 wheeler coming down the highway around a bend. He was about a half mile away and his lights indirectly struck the tree for 2-3 seconds. It is the one thing I don't like about the image. If only that light could have come from the left, it would have been perfect.

Thanks for both looking and asking.

Great story and a "FABULOUS SHOT" as well. In a way, I think we here at the UHH wish that we could all be there!!! I know I would!

Thanks for a great story and a great shot to go with it. (Now I think I will have a beer...and read it again)

GREAT FOR SURE!!! Thanks lots!

Thanks,
Boone.
