It always amazes me how many log houses we have still standing near my place. I may have posted some of these before.

Amazing. Well maintained and kept. Nice photos.
Love log homes. Some of these have an awful lot of chinking.
Very cool and captured well
Another interesting set, Hal. Well done.
Nice captures and rendering of these lovely dwellings. Thanks for sharing.

To me, it looks like a show that was/is on TV about its company that buys old original cabins repurposes the logs, and uses them in the reconstruction of "original like" log cabins. The chinking between the logs looks like the same process used on the TV show.
My Aunt Maude use to say "They don't build 'em like they use to." These are nice shots, Hal. Thanks for posting.
Very good shots. I'm nearby in Montgomery county and I love log houses. (I've even built one from scratch in Vermont.) Where are these houses? I'd love to see 'em and take some pictures.
Nice shooting there, Hal!
I'm so glad to see that these have been retained and kept up and used instead of allowed to disintegrate. Log houses are probably second only to adobe in strength and insulating capabilities - and maybe better.
