Did you go by Ho Hum RV Park just east of Carrabelle right on the Gulf?

As c’mon; there’s gotta be some explanation as to how such a micro-edifice can pass as a “police station”.
Is there a person inside?
Is there a touch screen that we can’t see by which one can contact the police?
Or is it simply an obtuse municipal practical joke that I’m just over-thinking?
What gives? (Was gibst?)

We had a similar station in the town where I grew up, but it was twice that size. : ) I wasn't able to find a picture.

Incentive for the cops to avoid the donut shop.

In the town on Long Island where I grew up, there were twin buildings at the end of the canal. The one on the right is the police station, and the one on the left is for a public telephone. The police would park out front and go into the little building. They weren't there all the time, but often. This area is called Bay Park, at the southern end of East Rockaway. I found this picture online.

Nice joke! I guess this is as good a use for an old phone booth as any. Are there any still in use anywhere? I remember when I was just a boy growing up in Tampa, my parents didn't own a phone. When we wanted to call a relative, Mom would gather up some change and we would find a booth in some quiet place where the traffic noise was low to make the call. Shovel in some coins and hear the operator dial the long distance number and tell us "three minutes, please". At the three minute mark, the operator would interrupt the call to tell us to deposit some more change or hang up. Mom, Dad, and I would all crowd into the booth and close the door so it was more quiet. Our conversations were very short! Hard to imagine we did stuff like that back then. Different times!!

My 2 sons went to Carrabelle Florida once because there was a hurricane aimed directly at Destin, where they lived. They found a little motel there to stay the night and while one of them was in the shower, a tornado hit and took the roof off of their room. Good shot.
