OK, CMC, you've inspired me to take more photos in future where the road is either the main subject or at least a heavy presence in the shot. Love all your postings on this. So, a few more here. Only one has the road as main subject, and that is side road off Hwy 395 in California...Red Hill (ever wonder where that decorative red lava gravel comes from?). Next is also along Hwy 395, Alabama Hills. Popular place with Hollywood to make movies, especially the old westerns. The last one is the Temple of the Moon in Capitol Reef NP. Admittedly the road is only a small, incidental part of the shot, but it sure is one less traveled. Took us 2 1/2 hours each way to cover the 12 miles in to this spot with our 4 wheel drive truck and encountered only one other jeep. And for those who will notice...yes, I tried to line up the North Star better, but was as far to the right as I could get before a steep drop-off.
