Olympus has an equivalent to CIZ. They call it Digital Teleconverter.

One thing they support is that you can select RAW plus JPEG, it will give you a RAW without resizing and a JPEG with resizing.

Please I am focused on Sony cameras! No other brand Thank You.

That would be a great addition for Sony to add - possibly through a firmware update.

I've had a Sony a6000 for years and just upgraded to an a6500 and I had never heard of this feature before now. I knew about the digital zoom option when using the 16-50mm 'kit lens'. I just tested this and it works with all of my lens, except the 16-50mm lens. It even works with my 400mm preset, T-mount telephoto lens, which, when compared to a full-frame, can now be used as if it were a 1,200mm, f6.3 lens (I haven't taken any shots yet, just verified that it was compatible).

Anyway, after I give it a try, I'll post my impressions.

Sony has NEVER actually promoted CIZ and AFAIK, were the first to offer AI pixel enlargement IN CAMERA many years ago. Not only did they not promote it, they BURIED it in their instruction manuals !

We are well past Page 3. Three pages is all you get at UHH. It’s no longer your thread anymore. Even the theme doesn’t matter. We could migrate to discussing tripods or monitors next. Rules are rules, even if unofficial. You may be the OP but as of three pages ago it became your turn to butt out. How we roll here :-(

You could always start a new thread to pick up where this one went astray. That will usually get you another 3-page run at your personal concern.

Rotsa ruck widdat ;-)

Occasionally, I will upscale my Canon images using the default Adobe Bicubic Smoother in my Elements 9 - but have never made a test comparison with CIZ - but it might be worth while now that I think about it ...... ! ?

Not sure if it’s available in Elements but if you are using the full version of Photoshop you should try Preserve Details 2.0 as the resample option, it has to be turned on in the preferences to show up in the Image Size menu.

It is marketing hype that sounds like Ken Rockwell might have written it.
