This 3K$ laptop with mini led 4K 17" screen looks like it might be the best laptop around for photo editing--if you have to use a laptop. Anyone here had any experience with it?
Never mind, you are looking at the lightweight version...
Check for third party upgrade prices (memory and drives)
Also be aware that this will not allow direct plug-in of SD card, just microcard. You will need an adapter unless you tether a camera to it.
The only negative is the memory speed. Most newer systems have ddr4 3200 Ram, other than that it is a beast if you use Thunderbolt 3 devices.
There are certainly less expensive systems but video is certainly important and this has a good card in it.

I currently have a MSI monitor. MSI Excels in the gaming world. They do use Nvidia gpus. Nvidia is a leader in both gaming and photography along with Al. They even have specific drives for their gpus for photography. I personally believe you can do as well or better for the money unless you also want a gaming laptop. I am a gamer and photography amateur along with a gem cutter. I prefer a desktop for both games and photography along with gemstone design.
Beware - I purchased the MSI Creator 15 a month ago from Xotic PC. It was dead on arrival (touchpad didn't work) when I received it - despite the fact that Xotic PC calibrated the screen, so they must have turned the PC on. The fan was also super loud. I returned it the next day.
I purchased a Dell XPS 15 from Costco instead. Great machine. I run Capture One and Affinity Photo on it and it is very fast. Screen looks really good.
I am not a fan of MSI except for there gpus
I was concerned that the graphics card on the XPS 15 was not good enough. I spoke with Capture One and said that it is sufficient.
I went with the Alienware 17” instead of a MSI, basically the same laptop but with a nicer build quality. A fellow videographer friend of mine has the MSI and it seems kind of flimsy compared to the Alienware.
