Hi Thomas: No all my lenses are Nikon. I bought a new 50mm 1.8 af-s so it works fine on the D4. I am going to stick with the lenses I have for now. Haven't had an income for a year so I will dance with who I brought to the ball. Thanks as always for your comments.
I have a limiter set to full for soccer and generally all sports that I use a tele for.

Jules, shooting on the 5m setting for the limiter speeds up the focus...of course you have to not require getting in tight, but when they're across the field it's an advantage. But, yes, it can cause problems if you forget where your set at...lol...

Thanks for the info. Looking for the limiter to speed up focusing on the D4 and D500. I usually have it set to full for sports with a telephoto lens. Are you saying 5m and say I am shooting at 350mm with my 200-500 or 80-400 4.5-5.6 lens is best. Which way to go in your opinion?

Thanks, Jules

Hey Jules - Nice too hear ya got a sports gig. Some of the schools have let their teams make the move to Club Sports here in CA. Getting some good shooting time in. In the last week I shot 3 Club Football games and 4 Club Basketball games. Feels good to get back in the saddle. Hope you get real busy.

In general, yes. It just stands to reason; if you're at "full" the focusing system has to work harder, or, at least, *travel* more alot of the time. <shrug> I got that from a sports shooting podcast long ago, but there are times when I want the "full" setting, and, in fact, forgot I've changed it, but after awhile notice the difference! Pretty subtle if you're not shooting consistently, as I pretty much have to do in the pageantry realm where I try to get all the performers in 7.5 minutes, lol...if it's a large group it's impossible but fun to try...

...it's another thing to remember to check, but it enhances your product, no doubt. I used to forget that setting alot, in time, though, it's *almost* a part of my itinerary, lol...
