Megadap MTZ11 Auto-focus Adapter for Leica M Mount Manual Lens (Nikon Z)

I've seen a few videos on YT on the Megadap MTZ-11 Auto-focus Adapter for Leica M Mount manual lens for the Nikon Z system and it made me interested so I went ahead and got one.
What does it do? Well, just get any M Mount lens, screw it in the Adapter on one side, the other side is a Nikon Z mount.
Now screw it on the Nikon Z camera, it will make a "woosh" sound and the lens is secured by the Adapter.
Turn on the camera, focus more or less the subject, half-press the shutter and the the motor in the adapter will then drive the bayonet to extend or retract. The distance between the lens and the camera sensor will hereby be adjusted until the focus is reached.
Sounds like magic? Does it work?
The answer is it depends on the lens, I've had more luck with the Canon FD lenses. Wait? Didn't I say M mount? Well, as long as you have an adapter from any mount to M mount, the adapter supports it. So, to adapt Canon FD lenses, all you'll need is an additional Canon FD to M mount adapter. If you have Nikon F manual focus, all you'll need a Nikon F to M mount.
The Leica M mount lenses were much harder to work with the adapter, a lot of missed focus and sometimes it would not focus at all.
I also tested Nikon manual lenses (Nikkor 50mm, F1.4, AI - a superb lens) and the results were not good, 9 out of 55 photos were in focus. It was the first lens I used and it was getting dark (6:00 pm to 7:00pm EST) so that certainly made an impact.
The Canon FD lenses fared much better. First, the Canon FD 50mm F1.8 (another great lens), the sequence of 15 photos was perfect, all photos were in focus! Even among trees, houses in the background, the Z6 tracked perfectly! I included two shots of the sequence.
The Sigma mini-zoom 39-80mm F3.5 is not a legendary lens but it still takes sharp pictures, although my copy has some softness and it is not very easy to manual focus, this is where the Megadap adapter shines!
I also used it with a telephoto Albinon 80-200mm, F4.5, and had a hard time, had to fall back to manual focus most of the time.
Is it worth it? Depending on the lens it is, as long as you manually pre-focus it locks on the focus and the results in AF-C, High speed tracking were excellent! But it definitely slows you down if you're used to shoot in MF and is not as accurate as Peaking and Zoom.
Are there other owners of the Megadap, what do you think?

Take care,

Leica M and Nikon Z are bayonet mounts - there is no way to screw one into the other.

I don’t think he was being literal.

How long is the throw? I would think that you would need to make sure it was at the midpoint after each shot to ensure it had room in each direction to attain final focus.

Yes there is. The OP did it. Your lack of linguistic versatility is your problem, no reflection on the OP.

I doubt you’ll overcome your handicap, based on your history. Keep on suffering. I know you take pride in it.

What I meant is the Adapter has a M mount on one side and a Z mount on the other side, see picture below:

Yes, of course. I was trying to inject a bit of pedantic humour. I see you did fool one respondent, though.

I have the Megadap, and have used it on Nikon F native, and 3rd party lenses and old Canon Leica screw mount lenses and find that it works fine and is about what I could hope for. Actually the FTZ will not support older F mount lenses that require a camera with built in motor. I am well satisfied.
