Gabby is starting to get comfortable, but still not forcing her way onto my lap or laying across the keyboard.
Pretty face. Give her time. We adopted a very shy rescue cat who loved my wife but avoided me like the plague early on. We figured she must have been abused by a man before being rescued. After a couple months, however, she began to snuggle next to me on the couch, then started to stretch out in my lap -- but still wary. Now, she jumps up into my lap whenever I am at the computer and purrs away. The only problem is she loves to bury her face in the palm of my hand while sleeping, leaving me only one hand with which to type. It's great -- wouldn't have it any other way!
From one Cat Lover to Another: Beautiful, just beautiful photos of your Gabby! Walking home from class when she was in college in Chicago, my daughter used to offer some treats to a scrawny, stray cat in the neighborhood. Soon it became a routine, then a rescue from the mean streets, then an adoption into her life. She now calls MoMo her "son" and I'm MoMo's "grandpa." An animal that is loved and cared for returns that love many times over.
My hat's off to you, Paul.

Superb photos and GREAT message.
I love these close up, personal kitty pictures!
Thank you Moondoggie, Blair, crafterwantabe, Tim, sscnxy, Appy, Carol! In another post I mentioned Gabby was fearful of her own image on the computer monitor. She doesn't seem to be not afraid of that 'other cat' anymore as I continue to review and edit images.
If you want some fun, Google "bird videos for cats." Gabby will be enthralled watching them.
