This is 586 x 30 second exposures in Ha and 825 x 30 seconds in OIII. Bicolor, shot with ASI1600 on 11" RASA.

Excellent image. Very low noise and great detail in the squid nebula.

Beautiful! Well captured! Beautiful detail!
We were close in aim.
I was back on the Rosette again last night.
Still experimenting, still wide-eyed wonder.
Do you have any listings of currently, or periodically, viewable Nebula?
I usually just go looking in Stellarium. But I think there has to be a better way.
Or hope so...
Thanks Ballard and Sunny.
I’m going to try NGC 2174 next. But you’ve already hit that one. I Have to pick items that I can see.
I did start to get some OIII on Orion, but it’s only visible for 1/2 hour. I figured, I don’t need much data for it.
I would like to get the Cone Nebula too, but I don’t get enough time in an evening for that either.
SH2-261 Lowers Neb is a good possibility.

Don't know if this would help anyone, but I found this web site that seems to have year round targets to pursue if you have favorable skies.
http://www.galactic-hunter.com/post/spring-the-15-best-astrophotography-targetsCalled the Galactic Hunter, I picked the Spring AP.
I think I'll try using it to help find objects to go after.
Might be better than my random looking in Stellarium, and gives me objects to enter to see if any are favorable for a given night.

Nicely done!
How long did it take to process those 1,411 subs? What software did you use?

What gain did you use? I've not done any serious captures with 30s subs usingmy ASI1600MM Pro. Do you apply a master dark and autoguide?
I most frequently use 120s but lately grabbed M81 with 240s and 360s subs, darks applied and autoguided.

Squid, Jellyfish does it really matter?
In my honest opinion I prefer the first version showing more Oiii
I really like the subtle blue emerging, almost a ghosty feel
Thanks Mark, I did like that as well in the first, that’s mostly what I focused on when I was processing it. Something I didn’t like on the first was that at some point I hit noise reduction too hard, that’s what made me go back to processing it again. One of these days I’ll learn to wait a day before I flatten the image and close out of PS.

I noticed that, but felt it wasn't worth pointing out.
It is a beautiful image, both of them, to me on my display.
Crazy big nebula! Beautiful!

Marc, did another redo, tried to keep more of the OIII.
Let's suppose I just want to get a good scope for viewing. . no photography. Looking through a scope with just the naked eye. Is this what I will see? I see all these great images, but is that what appears in the scope?
