So I am still on cloud 9 seeing wolfs rather close. They were about 150 feet away. Not the quality that the pros were getting who were there. I have seen their photos and well I still have a lot to learn. But, for someone who just started wildlife a couple of years ago, I will take these! If you do the download you will see they are not all bad. I have had to do some sharpening and noise reduction. The pros were all using the 600mm F4 with 2x extenders....
Canon R5, 100-500 & 1.4 extender. All are at 700mm.

Wonderful set, Lady! DLs are sharp, and 🎖 for personal bravery!

What a beautiful series of shots If I were trying to photo some wolves, I sure as H--- wouldn't be seeing if I could get even closer Why take chances where your safety and health are concerned You have a telephoto for a reason

Gorgeous work! The energy of being that close to the Wapiti pack must have been palpable!
Not sure if time would have allowed with running wolves, but i am wondering if a zoom back for images 5 and 6 would show the carcass and ravens that the wolves are running towards for some added perspective and even more BIF?

Awesome photos, Beth. Classic case of the wolves following the ravins to the kill. Love #3 with the wolves and the single ravin. Super job and you have every right to be proud and satisfied with these.

Excellent series. It must have been a real thrill to be on a carcass and see the wolves approaching.

Very good shots !!!. Fantastic photo # 2; It seems to me they were starving. I would not worry about the photos of other photographers because yours are very good, but I would be concerned at how far away I was taking the photos.

We were plenty far away. 150 yards.

I can see where you would think the ravens were there first. The main pack had killed the elk over night and the older wolfs had already eaten their fill. These were 3 young wolfs that were last in line to eat. They were chasing the ravens away so there would be more for them!
