Can anybody give me some pro's and con's with reference to starting my own boudoir photography business
The only good pointer I can give is to make sure the subjects know you're taking their pictures in that setting. :-D :-D :-D
All subjects are fully aware of the type of photography since up to now it's been at their request but thyink I got it a bit wrong with the description of Boudoir more of a lady just wanting some photographs done in a different light .
My rules always apply :-
1 . Partner of the client / Friend must be present
2 . My wife is always present
3 . No nude shots unless client requests but they must be tasteful.
4 . No close up sexual shots ( Not what it's all about )
Cheers MtnMan I will have a look at the link to see where I can go from here , just starting to get too many requests for it to just be a hobby
MtnMan thanks for the link I will order one of the PDF E books tomorrow as it's a bit late here in the UK but thank you very much for the link just what I needed to look at
Brian
I have one of Ed Veroskys earlier boudoir books 10 ways to improve your boudoir photography The newest one has my book plus more in it. Another good book is Digital Boudoir Photography: A step-by-step guide to creating fabulous images of any woman by Blair,John G. One big thing is a contract with modeling release giving or not giving permission to use pictures in you portfolio or advertising. In my modeling release it will give permission for all or just certain photos. Your policy of the client bringing an escort and your wife being present is spot on. My wife is also my assistant helping with posing and props. There are may Boudoir web sites to look at to get posing and lighting ideas, my site is
http://normsboudoirphotos.com (still under construction). Good luck. Stay professional and have fun

We have a local lady doing boudoir shots, very tasteful. So can be kosher
I was actually thinking about this the other day. I'm finally getting all my studio equipment together so I can do indoor portraits and stuff like that and boudoir photography is something that always interested me.
I've had a surprising amount of people ask me if I do it, and found that there actually isn't a photographer in my immediate area that does this photography.
I've been doing some research the past few days on it so If I find anything interest/valuable i'll be sure to post and share.
NUMJER ONE....
