STILL an Aperture user and am pretty familiar with most all aspects...ask away?
There is NO OTHER SOFTWARE that allows you to zoom on 4 images side-by-side and then rank them (for future use or deletion) simultaneously.
And yes I AM RUNNING APERTURE successfully on a 2021 IMAC and Catalina---yep I'm sure. You just need the patch--which also supports all earlier versions of ITUNES.

Why don't you check to see if you have more than one Aperture Library. Something may have happened that created a separate library. You need to figure this out 'logically' and step by step.

I used Aperture for years and still have it running under Mohave. But it's time for Catalina. Please share info about the patch you mentioned! Will it work with M1 Macs?

I double up here. Aperture is 32bit and 'should not' be supported with Catalina or subsequent OS, that require 64bit applications. How have you made this work?

I think Aperture is 64 bit, which made it particularly disapointing that Apple quit supporting it.

Yup. You are right! I figured since it was so old Version 3.6; that it was 32. Now I know why it works in the later OS--just not supported.

Hello,
Several of us are interested in "the patch" you mentioned and would much appreciate a link or other information about it. Thanks.

An added note I am now aware that there are two companies that offer an app that will use of Aperture with recent Apple upgrades.

Thanks to all of you for giving me your time.

Carpe Diem and Cheers. Dale

I think you should check out CaptureOne. You can do that and a hell of a lot more!

I have been using LR Classic since a trip to Antarctica where we took over 10K pix. But I have about 40K old pix in Aperture that I don't want to bring into LR.

I found the following:

Has anyone tried it?
