My Wacom tablet quit working as a tablet after this last Win 10 update. It only works as a mouse.
It was OLD and now is outdated completely. Time for a new one. I've not had that happen before. I can't find the CD, it is so old, to even see if I could possibly get it to work, and remap it. Oh well, time for a new toy!
I've only used the Wacom. Are any of the others just as good? Or should I get another Wacom.

My Wacom is at least 15 years old (Model CTE-630) and survived the latest Windows up-date OK. Funny your mouse will work but the pen won't?? Maybe give Wacom a call and talk to a tech. Wacom told me a few years ago that the tablet would not work with Windows 10; no driver available. I uploaded the old driver and everything has worked fine ever since. If this tablet ever expires I'll certainly get another Wacom.
Mine is older than dirt. It still works, but only as a mouse. My research showed that this is a problem with this model. Still works for some and not for others.
Look online for compatible drivers and reinstall. That might be all that is needed.

I was told by Wacom several years ago that updated drivers for these old these older Wacom tablets are not available from Wacom. I used the old original driver and it works OK for me.

Before you throw in the towel, try a new pen on your Wacom. I had the exact same problem with my CTE-640. I simply couldn't use my pen tool. Out of desperation, I bought a new pen and everything is great again.
Thanks folks. I have/had already tried everything mentioned and more. No luck. I buried it already (file 13).
Question was/is, are any of the other tabs as good. They all claim to do the same thing. One thing for sure, Amazon sells them all, and have a free return policy which makes it easy too try things out.
I've HAD A "HUION for 4 years now which replaced my old Wacom "BAMBOO" after 10 years of service.. A replacemen Wacom would have cost me over $100 USD . I picked up this "HUION Insperoy" H640P for less than $50 FROM Amazon as a 4x6" equivalent that I've had no issues with since time of purchase!! I use it for any detail adjustments I "may" need for images coming out of my Nikon D500/Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens which may be enlarged up to 20x30 inches or more via Adobe Photoshop CC! in conjunction with my Viewsonic VP2365 monitor!!
been using the Cintiq large Wacom... never to be without one
My Wacom tablet is at least 8 years old; it works fine with BigSur along with On1 and Capture One Pro.
For the past year, I've been using XP-PEN Deco-01 tablet. For photography editing, it is plenty adequate. And less expensive than a new Wacom.
Monoprice.com had some cheapies. Mine were slow, but that was ten years ago...they have to be better now. But...they were less than $20 at a time when Bamboo was about $80 (?) I've always received reliable service from them.
