Yeah, but with a closed airport for just about a year...a change of scenery would be nice.
On the other hand, we're probably the luckiest place to be on the planet right now. Government shut things down HARD for several weeks last spring, and has been ultra diligent with testing and quarantining. It paid off...we haven't had a positive case "in the wild" since the very first cruise passenger that had to be brought ashore when this all started. Have had a few cases with inbound and/or returning travellers, but they've been isolated/treated so it was contained.
And although people do still sort of naturally keep their distance now, no mask mandate, no restrictions on restaurants. Think there may still be a 500 person limit on gatherings, but on this little rock, that would be hard to do. With the exception of being able to travel, and some supply chain issue with imports, we're just keep our fingers crossed and hope it keeps going for us.
