Anyone, besides me, having trouble installing the latest firmwar3e to the Nikon P1000? Thanks!

What kind of problems are you having? Nikon's directions are pretty straightforward, but you do have to follow them to the letter.

I did mine with a Mac and as noted above you have to follow the instructions to the letter. It worked perfectly.
As for the Windows version (that is what .exe is for) you have to have the .exe visible in your file manager. Then you will need to double click it to get it to execute. That is standard Windows stuff.
I would offer more help but there are folks on the forum who are more expert with Windows than I am.

Thanks for your help. I guess a 75 year old guy shouldn't try and do anything involving a computer. My mistake, I didn't transfer the correct file to the SD card that was inserted into the camera. I corrected the user error and updated the firmware.

Glad that everything worked out for you, but please don't fall into the "I'm just an old guy" myth. At my age of 86 years I do recognize I can't do everything I did at 21 (run, walk miles of rugged mountains, etc.), but my mind is still good. Understanding computers and learning new software is not beyond my capabilities. Don't let a number define who you are. Keep learning and enjoying life.

Thanks for the notice about an firmware update.
Downloaded the F-P1000-V14W.exe file
Ran it to extract the P1000Update>firmware>firmware.bin folders and file
Fired up the P1000 and formatted the memory card
Copied firmware folder to the memory card
Fired up the P1000, opened Menu, selected Firmware version item
Answered Yes to Update message
Voila, three minutes later the update was done!
Thanks again!
