A local funeral home has been sold, and it's going to become a bar and restaurant. I can just imagine the décor and some of the names for the food and drink. You've heard of the Roadkill Cafe, right?

Don't degrade the Roadkill Cafe. A great place to stop for apple pie and ice cream when driving from Vegas to Flagstaff!!

There is a place in Ireland that is a pub on one side and a funeral Home on the other. I had passed it twice on separate trips to the Emerald Isle but have never stopped to take a peek inside. Gonna do that next time.
The wife and I have always gotten such a kick out of seeing this place.

People wouldn't have to 'die' to go in...

We have a nearby church that was turned into an Irish restaurant. As much as possible, they kept all the decorations and furniture from when it was a church. I wonder if they'll do the same, here?

In Providence, Rhode Island is a pub called McBrides. ( East side, Wayland square area if any wants to make the trip) It is the converted garage from the funeral home next door. It is a great place and very nice décor. Story goes that the owners were traveling Ireland and noticed that it was common to have a pub next to a funeral home (in Ireland for obvious reasons) so they wanted to do the same in the US. Before Covid they would have (Irish) music on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Oh, the pub and funeral home are still in business.

The University of Detroit's TV studios were located in a former Jewish funeral homes. All the floors were marble which made for smooth dollies.
