I primarily use Lightroom Classic for my photo editing. I occasionally edit in photoshop from lightroom. I'm trying to edit in photoshop this morning but it won't open. Has there been a change?

On occasion it has happened to me but rebooting has always solved the issue.

Thanks Peter. Every now and then the program doesn't behave like it is supposed to.

The "Edit In" workflow will be different if you do an in a collection for folder view. I get tripped up with fresh import because, by default, LR is in the 'recent import' collection.

Check the lower right hand corner of your computer, I got an update notice this morning and updated Photoshop.

Haven't had an issue with PS but LR was acting up last month. I deleted the program from the computer, logged into Adobe and reinstalled it. It not only is working better, but loaded in all my plugins without asking. I these suggestions don't solve the problem, call Adobe, you're paying for service and they are quite good at it.

Dan,
Are you using IOS? If so, did you update to Big Sur yet?

Lightroom was updated a couple of weeks ago. Photoshop was updated this morning to Ps 22.1.1 on the Mac. Check your Lightroom Preferences, External Editing tab to be sure the data there is correct.

Also be sure that both apps were installed to the default locations. Moving either will break the connection.

On occasion Photoshop (and Lightroom) will start but not display; happens more often when they don't shut down properly. They're still running in the background as you will probably note by checking the Task Manager. You can shut the program down in Task Manager or reboot to resolve the problem.

I think you mean MacOS. iOS runs on iPhones, iPadOS runs on iPads, WatchOS runs on Apple Watches, and TVOs runs on Apple TV...

Big Sur 11.2 is reasonably stable, even on M1 Macs.

The Adobe applications are still being updated for M1 chips, but Adobe apps run well in Rosetta 2 emulation. And they seem to run well on the Intel machines that support Big Sur. Lightroom CC is native on M1, but Lightroom Classic and today's release of Photoshop 22.1.1 run in emulation.

I always open Photoshop, before I start Lightroom. That way, if I need to edit a photo after importing with Lightroom clicking Ctrl E opens the photo in Photoshop immediately. If you haven't opened Photoshop before you click Ctrl E, it takes quite a while for it to open (at least on my computer) and access the photo.
