The Garden of Eden -- through my eyes

As I said in the title, I live in the Garden of Edin. It has its ups and downs but with what we had the last year it has proved what my eyes have seen. I thought as I drifted down the Madison River catching trout, that was the Garden, but I have come to realize that was just the North Fork and my backyard was the real garden. This is an always changing place where my God an I walk and talk and sometimes we just sit and look. The first photo is berries on a euonymus ( yes I did look up the spelling) in its fall display, number two persistent leaves on an Iron Wood Tree when all the others are gone,#3-5 just walking around the yard with a little snow, #6 is what I refer to as my paths of light finding some ferns, 7 is after the rain, 8&9 beautiful small distractions. I just got new glasses so I am going to work on sharpness but I even like what I have the pictures are really just have memory reminders. If you look at these I want to thank you for you time. Spike

You definitely have a point. Appreciation of the now and here is the key to happiness!

Several of these pretty much blow me away, Spike. The ones that don't, don't through no fault of yours, but do because of mine. Fault, however, is the wrong word or concept to use, though. The right word or concept would be more along the lines of 'they're blow-away-able' for you because they are a part of you and what's important in your life, and they're not a part of mine.

I'm convinced --though I certainly can't prove-- that when we photograph the things that have/make/are meaningful to some inner un-word-able part of ourselves, we photograph rightly and well.

Excellent work Spike! Thanks for sharing. To Jim's (Cany143) point, although the set has many excellent shots, #6 really strikes a chord with me. Each of us has a photo spot, that when touched, makes us happy.

The vertical tree is treeific! As are the other landscapes. Not so much for house and yard furniture. Perhaps a closeup or crop of the ice on roof?

The last two pictures are just my way to show there are hitches even in Eden.

Thanks for sharing, Spike. I grew up a little north of Buttler. Small town called Union City Pa. I moved way south to escape that snow. Great photos,
