I've been tracking a package since Dec 15.  It arrived in CA via International Bridge.  Then it continued in CA via Pitney Bowes.  I received it today, and I have no idea what it is.  I have no record of buying anything around that time.  It's a soft pink cloth measuring about 7" square. I was concerned about those black "things" on the edge. Bugs? Bacteria? No, just pieces of black thread.

It's obviously from China, but the return address is in Jamaica, NY. Weird? Yeah, I'd say so.

Jerry, it's probably a gift from the Indonesia girl. If there was a note in it telling you to "smell this", DON'T!

Jerry, this seems like something that happened to me. I received a pair of ankle length socks that were small enough for a pre-teen -- very cheaply made. I believe this was sent in place of something I had ordered on line. My belief is that these Chinese scam companies send "something" so that postal records will show a package being delivered to you. In case you did order something never tell Amazon or Paypal you got the wrong item. It will take months of back and forth where they want you to work it out with the vendor. They want you to contact them directly (good luck with that and hope you speak Chinese). Then they want you to return the wrong item to China!!!? (Right). Then they want to negotiate a price adjustment for you to keep the wrong item. It takes at least 2 months before you get refunded by PP. If this happens to you insist you did not receive the item you ordered -- period. NEVER say they sent you the wrong item. This way you will be refunded in about three weeks.

That is really excellent advice. Thank you so much for it!

Of course not, but it's nice waiting for them and seeing the UPS guy walk to the house. I have six packages coming today. The orders often get lumped together. One of my dogs is always very interested in what I get.

It's not that I believe a lot of conspiracies but if something like that arrived, my instinct would be to call my local police. They might be interested in having it tested especially if it came from China. And if you handle it, wear gloves.

I'm afraid it's too late for that. I opened the plastic package and touched it. There were some black marks I thought were mouse droppings or insects, but they were just thread. At least they didn't taste like mouse droppings.

Be careful Jerry. If you never ordered it and don’t know what it is leave it on the back porch. Maybe it was sent by the girl from Indonesia!
