Or you could take the ferry from Washington to AK drive around in your own car and take the hiway back. A superb trip that way.

Ah, the joys of the 59 Ford Galaxie! I had one. Big iron for sure. Great pics Mike. I also left Fairbanks 4 months before you got there, and I saw the Garden of License Plates 12 years ago and it is hugely bigger now. Thousands more plates!

Nice shots. We'd been looking forward to taking an Alaskan Cruise but were sidelined by what...? Oh yeah the China Flu. Looks like you had an enjoyable trip.

The four doors were imported (then assembled down here) in right hand drive and
were reasonably common.
Australians had a love affair with the 63 Compact Fairlane.
