i have seen photos of Canada and snow geese, sand hill cranes and starlings but never flocks of mallards. Just a wonderful shot.

Some congestion on the outbound flight path... Great capture and rendering. Please observe ATC rules and keep on posting.

Lots of action and excitement- dead on exposure- Cool shot! interesting how mallards always look amused...

Love the shot. I also use the 80-400 but on an 810. I have convinced myself to rent a D500 this coming spring for that extra reach and superior focus tracking. See what I think. Looks to me like the combo works great from the shots you and others have posted.
