I found one at KEH a couple month ago, works great using minolta lens from my 7000 I bought in the 80's.
The a99 is a great camera. It rendered better than any other DSLR I've ever owned.

No doubt due to it not being a DSLR. Sony is most clever at such things.
I own both the A77ii and the A99. They are a great combination. Unfortunately I had to switch over to the E mount because of the weight of the cameras. I haven't touched either in over a year. I miss them. You will love the A99.
There is magic to the A-series cameras that accept Minolta lenses. That magic is that millions of AF Minolta mount lenses were made and so they are affordable. I have a Sony A-65, which suits my needs, for portability, there is my superzoom a Panasonic TZ100, which has a 1" sensor.

Instead of the a99 invest in its brother the a99ii. Better features and better quality. I have both the a77ii and the a99ii. Use the a99ii more, and remember Minolta lenes work just fine on the a99ii.

Yes, the a99 is the full frame, and the a77 is the cropped sensor.
Nice combo, be careful what you pay.
And, as you may already know, there a a slue of Minolta AF lenses that will work well off the a99.

The nice thing is that with the Sony LE-EA series adapters (and others), you can continue to use the many, many A-mount lenses and support gear (if you keep it).... I still want a high end A-mount camera, but have great success with my A37 and A58 (even my older models), my growing E-mount stable has a shelf space next to and above the shelves of A-mount camera and lenses. Basically an armoire for Sony/Minolta and another one for all my Nikon gear.
Between the a99 and the a99ii the a99ii is a much better camera. Bios has been improved along with mistakes in the a99 were corrected. For a 46 meg camera you can purchase this used and don't forget to get the extra batteries along with the Vella motor drive. It comes in handy on a major photo shot.
Would you sell the A99?

Call B&H photo they sell used and new camera gear. They should have a a99ii for sale. Price varies due to photos shot and condition of camera.
