The old faithful column.
I have decided to down size my camera and I have been using Canon cameras for many years of taking photos, in the past six months (been locked up in the house, I ‘m 83 years old) I have enjoyed buying cameras and spending money I don’t have. I sold my canon M3 to buy a 90D , wonderful camera but I found it too large and heavy for me, and I replaced with a canon RP, both cameras with the 24-134mm lens. Again wonderful camera but too heavy, I thought I would need a camera a lot smaller for quick pick up and go. I followed recommendations from some of you ( With a great respect) and I purchased a Panasonic Lumix ZS 100 nice size but the camera flash didn’t work, (I followed instructions from the manual, from the internet and the company expert) back to Amazon and eBay, now I am back with canon product M6 similar to my old M3 that I was familiar. Now with out boring you this camera is great but in order to use the shatter button I get a message “to fully use your camera push and hold the switch on the lens then rotate to maximum “ and it looks like I need to do that every time I turn the camera on to take a picture. I would appreciate any help with any vast criticism for my actions, just remember spending some many hours inside the house the brain loses reasoning.

Thank you so much for trying to help me. I followed your instructions and turned to page 22-221 step #5 PREPARE TO SHOOT, it states “needs to hold the lens retraction switch and turn the lens ring out”. I believe I have to do that every time I need to open and use the camera. I received the camera yesterday and some how I will find a way to make it work right by reading the instructions more careful, again thank you.
