I was visiting a small lake nearby yesterday, and all I saw at first was 1 each Ruddy Duck, American Coot and a Pied-billed Grebe.
I was about to leave when I spotted a large bird flying low over the lake. Luckily I had the camera ready and I was able to fire off a few shots before he landed.
He then hung around the shoreline for some time, as people walked by.
It helped turn my day much brighter.
Thanks Mike....my best photos of a Blue Heron yet. I lucked out yesterday.
Good pics!! We are lucky enough to have one that fishes once in a while in the river behind our house.
BTW: the blue heron that fishes behind us is named Edward.
You really nailed that GBH. Canoa Lake?

Jack,
thank you....no this was at Lake Sahuarita. I saw commercials for homes at Sahuarita on TV, and decided to check out the lake. there is a walking path all around the lake.
It is rather pretty there. The GBH made my day.
Ever ready with the P950 makes it a worthwhile trip. Great captures. Please stay safe and keep on sharing.
