The implication with impeachment is that a Senate trial must ensue. If President Trump can't be tried based on logistics as much as anything else, why bother? You keep holding onto the idea that the President will somehow be walking around with a red "I" emblazoned on his forehead.

Pelosi will likely get only a Pyrrhic victory.

America would get a victory.

Trump is a threat to the entire world.

The only people still following him and supporting his efforts are vile racists and not patriotic in the least.

These scum of the earth, fascist-loving terrorists should be in Gitmo.

It is true that some of Trump’s followers are just ignorant , as ignorant as Trump himself.

These ignorant and racist Trump followers that stormed the Capitol have by their actions created a unified opposition to Trump and his policies.

Hate runs deep in this individual....with hate like that, the city should make sure all schools are secured or locked down in your area.

What you call “hate” is just acceptance of fact and reality and not the gaslighting the trumpists use to excuse their criminal acts.

Also read the last paragraph of Article I, Section 3.

“disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: “

Guess again. Read the Constitution. Wait, I'll quote it for you.

Article II, Section 4, United States Constitution - The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

Impeachment only applies civil officers. As of noon, January 20th, President is no longer a Federal Officer. The earliest a trial could start is January 19th. Senate trial procedures require that the accused have adequate time to prepare a defense.

There is no law on the books which allows the Federal government to deny a past President his pension or Secret Service protection. It also can't be passed Constitutionally. Any such law would be a bill of attainder, and those are specifically forbidden in the Constitution.

Any vote to disqualify an individual from holding future office must be considered separately, and apart from Article II, Section 4. Article II, Section 4 only discusses removal from office upon conviction. Any vote taking place under Article I only requires a majority in both houses, and does not apply to future eligibility.

That being the case, it becomes a legal question, subject to appeal through the courts.

Ex-judge Alcee Hastings was impeached and convicted, but has run for and been elected to Congress from Florida.

I have been asking for several days what are Trump's words that incited violence and insurrection. I have yet to hear those words from the media. Maybe someone on this forum can repeat them here, although I doubt they will, because I'm guessing they can't.

There aren’t any, they use a compilation of his comments over the last four years and that’s how they justify President Trump as an insurrectionist...They have nothing and impeachment will fail

Is seems Trump will be impeached again. However, according Clyburn, the articles will be sent to the senate in a couple of months.

If Trump is convicted, he will be barred from holding office in the future, he will lose his pension and lifetime security detail

This time may work, since the Republicants no longer have a majority. Sorry Mitch. NOT.

We've been trying to warn you of the dangers of TDS but you fools wouldn't listen. You won yet STILL you spew irrelevant hatred and venom from every orifice. It's systemic and terminal. What a bunch of sore winners. You WON. We lost. But it's too late for you. I'd try to feel sad for you but you were warned. Orange will haunt you to your final rest.

Not only this but Pelosi is a vindictive old hag and the folks who follow her lead aren't much better. This latest move towards impeachment is another sham that will end up being another waste of time and money. The libs won. It's time to move on.

Thanks I particularly like John Adams statement quoted in your second source

“”””” “I hold myself, so long as I have the breath of life in my body, amenable to impeachment by this House for everything I did during the time I held any public office.

He is blaming them for shaping the unrest that exists from with their tall biased tales of wrongdoing that never really held any water.
