I took the train from Santa Rosa ca to Chicago this summer. ( California Zephyr) Just so i could take photos. This is one of the photos that i really liked for the rich colors.
2. is some where in Colorado. The rocks just shot up in the air.

Love the first one the best. Did you use a polorizer?

There is not much choice when the shot is taken from a moving train with the evening shadows creeping up the mountain. All considered i thought it came out very well.

Thanks. The trip on The California Zephyr is really beautiful. Especially between California and Denver. Next trip coming up is in northern Florida. I have never been there i am excited to see what there is there to photograph.

I did not use a polorizer the effect comes from the tinted windows on the train.

Do you remember what area of Utah? We rode to Sturgis SD this summer and went through Utah. On the way up we went I-15 but the way back we came through Colorado on I-70 and saw some rocks very similar to these. I took a bunch of pictures of them too :wink: on the back of a moving Harley... You did a great job it almost looks HDR because the colors are so deep.
