Is it possible to make this photo black and white except for the red umbrealla? If you can could you email it to me at Alemorkam@yahoo.com. Thanks Ron.

Do you have Lightroom and Photoshop? Either can readily do it.
Google and u-tube are your friends in this situation, more so than any email instructions. You can get a selection of step-by-step videos for your specific software you can watch and / or follow along in one window with the video playing in another window. You can pause and rewind, as needed, to get the steps of the process. You can watch several versions of the process, and find the author that best fits your needs. Start with this search and watch the results and / or adjust the search to your software:
photoshop selective color black and white
I chose not to email it but you can open in download and right click on it and choose "Save As".

It’s digital - it can be faked any way you wish in Photoshop.

You’re not limited to Photoshop or Lightroom to do what you want. Give a look at the app Color Splash. A lot less expensive than what some others are trying to sell you.

"Faked" might be a strong word here. I really don't see someone's artistic imagination as being fake. Photos have been manipulated for ages. Not just digital. I have burned, dodged, touched-up, etc. in my darkroom in the days before digital. I am not trying to be confrontational. I am just open to anyone's artistic imagination. We see some wonderful imaginative images here on UHH. I find them most enjoyable. Have a great and safe day.

Of course. No doubt I’m too outspoken here about not being a fan of digital imaging.
Easy Peasey if you have LR. So to the color saturation sliders and move all the sliders to the extreme left except the red, magenta, and possibly orange ones.

Or simply select the umbrella, invert the selection and desaturate. Done.
