Constructive criticism, please. I did some cropping in photoshop, and also made slight adjustments to the color and contrast.

I hate to be the curmudgeon, but I don't see any subject, I don't see any attempt to take advantage of lighting and I don't see any composition that is artistic in the least. All I see is a shot in the fog that is not interesting. What makes a foggy shot interesting is the contrast between foreground and background. If you had a deer or a horse or even an old house in the foreground surrounded by fog but standing out clearly, that would make an interesting picture.

My sentiments exactly, fog itself is not a subject unless it relates to something that stands out in contrast to it.

Ditto. I was trying to crop it in my head as I viewed the image. I decided I wouldn't have taken it at all. It left me flat. The half tree on the side is distracting. Lose that tree and the one in the lower right corner. Just committ to the fog for starters.

Ah I love mist! I want to do my own series but you can't find mist when you want it! So I took some liberties with your photo for fun(everybody else does it, and you asked for constructive criticism). I am an Artist by profession meaning I studied at an art college and took photography there too. Here is my version, I took the advice above and cropped, did some tonal adjustment to make the foreground tree an 'anchor' that lets the eye wander into the misty distance. I see it almost as a painting...

Very nice rendition of this shot. I to have some art background and painted in oils for years. I find we tend to look differently at things than regular photographers without an art background. This shows how much you can do to make it more interesting and painterly. Nice job and will give some ideas to photographers.
